The Origins of Tahir & Zainab

In the early years of the 21st century, Mr. Tahir Muhammad and Ms. Zainab Reagina first met through a business collaboration introduced by mutual connections. Unexpectedly, during their very first business meeting, within less than 30 minutes, Mr. Tahir boldly proposed to Ms. Zainab. Naturally, the proposal was not accepted at the time. However, to demonstrate his sincerity and determination, Mr. Tahir took meaningful actions to prove his intentions. Three months after their first meeting, he followed Ms. Zainab all the way to Taiwan for love, making tremendous life-changing decisions and sacrifices along the way. His devotion deeply moved Ms. Zainab and her family. In the end, he won Ms. Zainab’s heart, and the two were united in marriage.

Mr. Tahir, a descendant of Afghan heritage from Pakistan, possesses more than 25 years of hands-on experience in gemstone cutting and restoration, along with extensive expertise in the sourcing, trading, processing, and sales of precious gemstones and minerals from around the world.

Mr. Tahir’s journey with gemstones began at the age of five, when he apprenticed under a master to study the art of gemstone cutting and polishing. Through countless days and nights devoted to honing gemstones, combined with his exceptional talent, his mentor officially recognized him as fully qualified at the age of seven. At ten years old, he established his own workshop in Pakistan, where over the next decade he trained countless gemstone cutters, conducted gemstone trading, and produced numerous precious gemstones. By a fortunate turn of fate, at the age of twenty, Mr. Tahir left Pakistan for the first time and traveled to the world-renowned hub of gemstone processing and trading — Thailand. He then spent more than 15 years deeply rooted in the gemstone business in Thailand. During these 15 years, his own cutting and polishing factory handled countless gemstone ores, while he also established a storefront within the famous Jewelry Trade Center (JTC) on Silom Road in Thailand, serving buyers and sellers from all over the world.

Throughout these 25 years, not only did Mr. Tahir and the gemstone cutters personally trained by him handle countless precious gemstones and mineral ores, but the millions of international clients who passed through JTC with diverse jewelry and gemstone buying and selling demands also shaped his irreplaceable practical experience and professional capabilities.

From selecting raw gemstone materials, gemstone cutting and polishing, gemstone restoration, refurbishment, redesign, raw mineral trading and evaluation, to high-end loose gemstone transactions, as well as operating within major international gemstone wholesale markets and navigating global gemstone trading practices, Mr. Tahir possesses unparalleled expertise and irreplaceable experience. This sets him apart from most owners of simple cutting factories or conventional jewelry stores. As a result, the range of services Mr. Tahir can provide is significantly more comprehensive and practical.

Ms. Zainab, originally from Changhua, Taiwan, ventured alone to the Middle East and Africa after completing her architectural studies to establish her own businesses. Whether climbing mountains or crossing oceans in search of precious mineral sources and gemstone mining locations across different countries, over the course of seven years Ms. Zainab established companies in Egypt, Pakistan, and China, specializing in the international bulk trade of precious mineral development and raw gemstone wholesale. She truly became a genuine gemstone hunter.

Cairo, Egypt marked the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey, where she established her first company and factory, engaging in the export of quartz sand and precious minerals in bulk containers to destinations around the world. After five years in Egypt, Ms. Zainab established her second company and factory in Pakistan and Afghanistan, regions located at the heart of the world, focusing on diversified mining development and exports. As mining operations gradually expanded throughout Pakistan and other Middle Eastern countries, traces of gemstones began to emerge from the mining zones.

For Ms. Zainab, whose expertise originally centered on the development of bulk stone and construction raw materials, gemstones were completely unfamiliar territory. However, local people believed that her dedication and the sincerity with which she treated every mineral had touched the heavens. That was why gemstone deposits — treasures many miners might never discover in an entire lifetime — unexpectedly appeared within the very stone mining sites she intended to develop. Thus, Ms. Zainab began the gemstone path destined for her by fate itself.

Just as the love between Mr. Tahir and Ms. Zainab brought them together, it also gave birth to the brand “Tahir Zainab.” In the spring of 2016, they established Tahir Zainab’s first Jewelry Academy & Fine Gem Boutique in Taiwan.

As of 2022, our presence has expanded across:

Taiwan — Retail storefronts offering wholesale and retail services, as well as gemstone cutting and polishing education.

Thailand — A jewelry wholesale business and privately owned gemstone cutting factory with over 15 years of operation.

Pakistan — Multiple mining zones, gemstone mine-owner alliance wholesale offices, and cutting factories.

Sri Lanka — Wholesale office.

China (Shenzhen & Beijing) — Wholesale offices and goldsmith factories.

Egypt — Wholesale office.

The original mission of Tahir Zainab was rooted in upstream wholesale services — “providing wholesale clients with the best quality at the most competitive prices.” This is why we continue to expand and strive forward relentlessly.

Throughout seven years of operations in Taiwan, we encountered countless individuals who aspired to enter this industry, yet faced obstacles such as purchasing at excessively high prices and being unable to sell, receiving professional education but never truly entering the industry, or even suffering losses through scams and deception… These various stumbling blocks prevented many aspiring sellers from achieving their gemstone dreams. As we repeatedly heard these stories from different clients, many customers began asking whether Tahir Zainab could provide educational programs and consulting services. This inspired us toward a greater mission. Today, beyond wholesale and retail alone, we are even more focused on the field of education.

It is expected that during the first half of 2022, more gemstone livestream incubation centers will be established across the multinational industry chain, cultivating even more Tahir Zainab partners.
